Deck – I was texting Marty the other night after work about something related to the boat. He is always very quick at responding to me, and has outstanding advice. I always bounce things off of him, and usually his answers are better, clearer or more logical than I get from online sources. On the other hand, Marty and Ray have very similar mindsets about how things should be – but they often have different ways of approaching the same problem. It’s all good!
While we were texting, he wrote something like: “…I forgot to mention, teak is already going down”. Even after a long day at work, I sprung up and wanted to race down to see the teak being laid down. Here are some early pictures.








It is awe-inspring to watch the results of experienced craftsman. I remember when traveling in Japan the week before the 2011 Tsunami how I felt studying the careful carving and joinery of the Japanese on their temples and related buildings. Marty is laying down the teak to the deck with West System epoxy. That pile of teak sitting on the boat is impressive (and expensive!!):
